We work in teams within emergency care in medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, stroke, and infection at Östersund Hospital. We also run outpatient clinics for several of these patient groups.

We have 13 employees within the professions of physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The unit is tasked with providing inpatient and outpatient patients within specialized somatic care with occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for occupational therapists within the medical clinic. The responsibilities mainly consist of mapping and assessing activity ability and cognitive functions after acute illness. You are an integral part of the team around the patient, where collaboration with the next level of care is important.

Examples of tasks may include assessing activity and cognitive ability for discharge planning and the need for continued rehabilitation. Assessing the need for assistive devices, prescribing, and testing assistive devices are other important tasks. The work includes documentation and reporting to colleagues in the next step in the care chain, such as inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient care, and community.
